Our client is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer. The qualified candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, committed to time schedules and deadlines; have the ability to work independently and within a team.
Responsibilities
- Structural design and analysis of bridges and other transportation-related structures
- Preparing progress reports
- Produce calculations using engineering formulas and skills for project design
- Work with other engineers in design and construction
- Solve problems by the use of combinations of standards and modified standard procedures or methods developed in prior assignments.
- Contact and coordinate with other departments to research appropriate course of action
- Consult with suppliers or contractors to interpret specifications or other contract criteria
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of five(5) years’ structural engineering experience including steel fabrication
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Must be experienced with structural design methods, steel fabrication, codes and standards, and tools.
- Must be familiar with computer design tools including spreadsheets, and FEA/structural analysis software
- Demonstrated experience with computer-based design tools (such as SAP2000, CSIBridge, and/or LPILE)
- Experience in concrete and steel design
- Experience in creating drawings, and preparing specifications
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
